normalheartRyan Murphy’s adaptation of Larry Kramer’s 1985 play about the early days of the AIDS epidemic captures all the original’s emotional and devastating anger. Mark Ruffalo anchors a top-notch cast as writer Ned Weeks, who in early 1980s New York City founded the Gay Men’s Health Crisis while battling the medical and political communities. Amazing and nuanced work from Matt Bomer, Julia Roberts and Jim Parsons as well. Not to be missed. 9 p.m. Sunday, May 25, on HBO.

When you think of big TV weddings, what names come to mind? Luke and Laura? Rhoda and Joe? (I’ll pause now while those people under 30 rush to their search engines). After tonight, you might want to add Mitchell and Cameron (Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet) to that list. The popular comedy closes out its fifth season with the first (of two) episodes centering around the couple’s sure-to-be hilarious nuptials. Lily (Aubrey Anderson-Emmons) will make an adorable flower girl, and remember, Pepper Saltzman (Nathan Lane) is the wedding planner. 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, on ABC.

louisckHe’s baaaaack! After a long 19 months, fans of Louis C.K.’s deadpan (and multiple Emmy-winning) comedy can rejoice. The back-to-back episodes that make up the season four premiere deal with a typical day for the stand-up comedian and his performance at a benefit. 10 p.m. Monday, May 5, on FX.

Dreyfus is hilarious (as always), and is matched quirk-for-quirk by the actors who play her inner circle (Anna Chlumsky, Matt Walsh, Reid Scott and Tony Hale). 10:30 p.m. Sunday, May 4, on HBO
