Shonda Rhimes’ twisty political drama started season six with the one-two punch of the results of a Presidential election followed by the death of one character, possibly at the hands of another major one (trying to avoid names, so I won’t be accused of spoilers). I think it’s time Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) and her Gladiators to get on the case. 9:01 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, on ABC.

1tvlmoe_tzrA lot of the fun in this odd comedy is seeing how Phil Miller (Will Forte), who initially thought he was the last man on Earth, discovers that he is not alone on this planet. The new additions to the cast have been great (Kristen Schaal, January Jones, Mary Steenburgen), and tonight Phil’s astronaut brother, Mike (Jason Sudeikis), crashes the party. 9:30 p.m. Sunday, March 6, on Fox.

XF_sc7_0067rjw_hires1_tzrThe folks at Fox are hoping you still believe and are willing to once again follow agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully (David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson) in this six-episode revival of the landmark 1993-2002 sci-fi series. Many of those involved with the original series — on both sides of the camera — are back (Chris Carter, Darin Morgan, Mitch Pileggi, William B. Davis), so this could be a lot of creepy/paranoid fun. 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24, on Fox.

simp_Halloween_Horror_TABF22-Sc_3029b_hires2It’s not the annual “Treehouse of Horror” episode (that comes next week), but tonight’s episode of the long-running animated comedy looks at what happens when Lisa gets scared at the “Krustyland Halloween Horror Night” and Halloween pop-up store employees seek vengeance on Homer. D’oh! 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, on Fox.

1artsandysamberg_tzrIt doesn’t have the glamour or prestige of the Oscars or the Tonys, and locally it will have to compete with the Seahawks game, but if you love television you might want to tune in to see who wins. Andy Samberg (“Brooklyn Nine-Nine”) hosts. 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, on Fox.

In television’s seemingly endless attempt to duplicate the success of “Friends,” here’s another comedy about “mid-30-somethings who are unexpectedly thrust into one another’s lives” when they move into a town house in Queens, N.Y. The “friends” are played by Becki Newton, Zachary Knighton, Nate Torrence and Meera Rohit Kumbhani. I’ll just say it: If this show tanks, get Knighton and the gang back together and bring back “Happy Endings” (nope, I’m still not over it). 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, on Fox.
