Shonda Rhimes’ twisty political drama started season six with the one-two punch of the results of a Presidential election followed by the death of one character, possibly at the hands of another major one (trying to avoid names, so I won’t be accused of spoilers). I think it’s time Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) and her Gladiators to get on the case. 9:01 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, on ABC.



Also: It’s season finale time for “Alone” at 9 p.m. on the History channel (followed by a reunion special); a junior edtion of “MasterChef” premieres at 8 p.m. on Fox; and frankly, my dear, “Gone with the Wind” is on TCM at 9 p.m.

And what does creator Shonda Rhimes — who does this sort of thing so very well — have in store for the fourth-season ender of this twisty, political soap opera? Surely nothing as devastating as the loss of a major character on “Grey’s Anatomy” a couple weeks back, but you never know what Rhimes has up her sleeve for Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) and her gladiators. You’ll just have to watch to find out. Season finale, 9 p.m. Thursday, May 14, on ABC.

scandalSPOILER ALERT! What more could creator Shonda Rhimes possibly have in store for this hyper-paced, twist-filled nighttime soap in the next few weeks (the season finale airs April 17)? The last few episodes have seen the death of a major character (played by Emmy-winner Dan Bucatinsky), a murderous/crazy vice president (Kate Burton), an adulterous affair for the First Lady (Bellamy Young), face-licking and many close-ups of Olivia Pope (actress Kerry Washington is pregnant in real life).
