Before it premiered last year, this looked as if this would just be just another game show. Then, after watching host Jane Lynch (“Glee”) work her sly magic as she herds the (sometimes overserved) celebrities like so many cats as she asks them questions, you could tell this would be a ton of silly fun. Guests for the season three premiere are John Legend, Chrissy Teigen, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Giada De Laurentiis, Zachary Quinto and Jane Krakowski. 10:01 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, on NBC.

Mary McDonnell returns as Capt. Sharon Raydor of the LAPD for a third season of this involving, terrifically cast, police drama. Tonight’s premiere follows the case of a missing family and features some great moments from the always reliable ensemble cast (Tony Denison, G.W. Bailey, Raymond Cruz and Michael Paul Chan). 9 p.m. Monday, June 9, on TNT.
Season three of this Emmy-winning, wickedly funny comedy finds Vice President Selena Meyer (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) preparing a run for the nation’s top job. Dreyfus is hilarious (as always), and is matched quirk-for-quirk by the actors who play her inner circle (Anna Chlumsky, Matt Walsh, Reid Scott and Tony Hale). 10:30 p.m. Sunday, May 4, on HBO

Of course we knew he wasn’t dead, what with that brief glimpse of our hero at the end of Season 2, but how did he survive “The Reichenbach Fall”? Inspired co-creators Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss poke fun at fan theories and expectations in the Season 3 premiere, “The Empty Hearse.” Two (of many) highlights: the restaurant reunion of Holmes and Watson (Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman) and a motorcycle race through the streets of London on Guy Fawkes Day. #SherlockLives! 10 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, on KCTS.
